Sarafotoxin B: toxins properties
Sarafotoxin B has been isolated from the venom of the Snake Atractaspis engaddensis. This toxin demonstrates a vasoconstrictor activity. This compound has a close structural homology to the endothelin family. Sarafotoxin B causes cardiac arrest probably as a result of coronary vasospasm. LD50 is 0.015 mg/kg by intravenous injection for sarafotoxin B.
